First off, the last TVD epp gave me a lot of ~feelings:

There's a whole world out there waiting for you )

I also wanted to congratulate my bb Nina Dobrev for winning the PCA for Best Drama Actress as the first write-in candidate ever--girl sure deserved the recognition, she has mad talent and was much better than the other candidates she was up against aside from Emily Deschanel perhaps (how exactly does someone like Blake Lively get these kinds of nods, seriously?). So glad about that, though still pissed at CBS's lame snubs of SPN (might as well get another use out of my "cbs sucks" tag, lol).

Last night I actually ended up watching Bones live on the air for the first time in god, IDEK, maybe since the season 3 finale in 2008? I think so actually...it's a long story (I was taping TVD though). LOLing as always at the unrealistic fake!Smithsonian stuff but okay epp overall--I was a bit confused about the end though...

Quick Bones question for those who watched this epp )

Since I've also expanded my icon collection and fandoms a lot since I last did it, I decided to do this Icon Meme again as well.  I made a deliberate effort to use different icons from last time where possible, which affected some of my selections:

MAH ICONS 2.0 )

I also finally saw Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy last Sunday, good stuff, and so many big British actors, lol. In that respect I particularly enjoyed seeing Edith's little cameo. ;) So many movies I want to see right now though, god, like 7, IDK how I'll manage them all....

And here is an adorable picture of my birdie Punky sleeping for your time:

Here is Part 2 of my BosCon experiences, photos, and videos (find my report on Friday/Saturday of the Con here), the best part: Jared, Misha, and Mishalecki galore! :D

I'm sorry about this guy... )

I must say, this convention also revitalized my love for SN a lot, and after getting home I've begun rewatching SN epps instead of continuing my DW rewatch.  The many shitty SN fanvids I saw in between panels has also inspired me creatively, lol, it almost makes me want to sort out my program situation and begin vidding again.

So as many of you know, this past weekend I had the privilege of attending BosCon (a Supernatural Convention) along with [livejournal.com profile] queen_insane and [livejournal.com profile] emo_dj_steph (whom I greatly enjoyed meeting with in person at last!), and it was AMAZING! :D  I'm so thankful that I had this opportunity to finally go to one of these things while the show was still ongoing (yay season 7!), and to see Jared and Misha there together (even if Jensen wasn't there)--those two are so ridiculously hilarious and adorable, I could just watch them all day, their panels are far too short!  (If I were to ever go to a Con in the future, unlikely as that is, I might just go to their day, definitely the best part).  And gah, they definitely did not disappoint me in the Mishalecki Hijinks department during their panel, I got all I had wanted to see and more. ;)

But everyone else was great too, I really enjoyed seeing and hearing from Alona Tal, Richard Spreight, Jr, Matt Cohen, Traci Dinwiddle, and Chad Lindberg!  It was just unreal to see all of these people in person...and even more so now seeing clips and gifs of it around Tumblr and being able to think, "I was actually there, I saw this live!" :D

Anyway, below is my full experience during the con, along with some highlights of the many, many photos and videos I took during it (which are mainly to blame for my delay in doing this post, as well as for why I had to break it up into multiple posts), if anyone is interested:

Friday and Saturday with Chad, Alona, Traci, Matt, and Richard )

For Sunday with Jared and Misha's panels, see my next post! :)

Well True Blood is back, and looking up from last season so far at least! The premiere, minus the cheesy beginning, wasn't so bad, a step up from last season's premiere to be sure, and then the second epp (which I actually saw last Monday thanks to HBOGO) was much better--can't wait now for next week's epp!  And congrats HBO for FINALLY airing an episode July 4th weekend.  (Happy Fourth to everyone btw!) My brief thoughts below...

TB 4x01:

We'll stay five minutes. Ten if they've got drinks. )

TB 4x02:

Did I miss something? Are we girls now? Did we join a book club and read some queer chick-lit memoir, so now we're bonded together by estrogen or sisterhood or some other feminist drivel? )

Speaking of HBO, as I said in my last post I watched all of season 1 of Game of Thrones via HBOGO the week I got back from Europe, and here is me finally getting around to jotting down my thoughts (spoilers for s1):

He was no dragon. Fire cannot kill a dragon. )

Since watching GoT, I've also rekindled my love for the Kushiel's Legacy series by Jacqueline Carey, which GoT reminded me a lot of actually--for all those who love GoT, I HIGHLY recommend reading these books!  Deadly palace court intrigue (including a "game of thrones"--this phrase is even used at least once or twice in the first book as I noticed while re-reading), mysteries about the past to be slowly uncovered/revealed, action and adventure, an epic, well-told love story, a complex and grey villain, an unforgettable cast of characters that you will love (I basically wanted to cry in the last book when I had to say goodbye to these characters forever, I loved and enjoyed them so much), this series has it all, and many elements that are found in GoT as well (including some explicit eroticism, but nothing really gratuitous since the protagonist is a courtesan).  I've basically spent the last few days re-reading the first book, Kushiel's Dart, and being gripped and unable to put it down despite knowing exactly what is going to happen b/c I've read it at least 3 other times...;) /obligatory favorite series pimp
