Writer's Block: Historian's Choice

[Error: unknown template qotd]I couldn't resist this one, history buff that I am...I would live during my favorite era of history, the 16th century, the era of The Tudors, the Spanish Hapsbugs, the Valois....but above all the Tudors--you already know about my obsession there! ;)  I would love to see all of my favorite historical figures in the flesh, and see firsthand what their life was like, maybe wear one of those fabulous gowns.  But only temporarily mind you--I couldn't stand the sanitary, social, and political conditions for long....

All gone.....

Well one of my worst fears, my greatest nightmares, has come to pass.  In mere seconds, in one foul swoop, ALL of my vid files, EVERYTHING that I have worked so f*cking hard and dilligently to put onto my computer, for so long--my Jacob/Bella video I worked so hard on, and was so happy with, still unfinished, and for which I rented and ripped so many movies for (now for NOTHING), all 5 HP movies, so much of ATS, all the clips I so carefully and painstakingly made, all my hard work of the last two years....is GONE.  Deleted.  Eliminated. Lost.  My computer gave me the evil "you are low on disc space" message and then next thing I know it says it's deleting temporary internet files--which apparently included all temporary files as well.....

I was just thinking about how this summer I was going to back them all up on the external drive to be safe, how I would buy more memory for my laptop to protect those files, my most important....and now all for nothing.

I just died a lot inside....

As if it wasn't bad enough that all of my vids keep getting taking down for music issues and other idotic reasons, for this to happen.....I almost don't feel motivated to replace the files.  I still can't believe they're gone....

EDIT 9/2009: Well I recently discovered that I actually *do* still have all of my video clips on my computer, they apparently were all backed up in a different Temp file in another section of my computer, thank God, though I didn't realize this for a long time--so I simply copied these files to the other Temp folder from which my Windows Movie Maker images feed and now all my clips and works-in-progress are restored--the Jacob/Bella vid is still a go, though I doubt I will have time to finish it before NM comes out Nov 20...
