sherrilina: (Lucrecia (Águila Roja))

Wow, I haven't posted here in a while before the other day, when I had to vent....things have been really busy!  Actually things are still really busy, and I really shouldn't be posting here right now, but I'm in the mood...:p

Anyway lots of things to say--first of all, I have discovered a new TV show and addiction, "Aguila Roja"--a Spanish TV show that just started a few months ago about a teacher in the "17th century" (a really inaccurate 17th century though, that makes "The Tudors" look like the history channel, lol) who, upon the murder of his wife by a secret organization that is trying to kill the king to take power, converts into 'Aguila Roja' (Red Hawk in English), a ninja who investigates the murderers of his wife while also helping the helpless and poor--it's like Robin Hood and Batman (secret identiry and all that) combined, but with a ninja costume instead, and it's totally cracktastic and awesome! :p  In some of its aspects it actually reminds me a lot of "Merlin" too, which is another plus!  You can get a sense of its cracktastic glory in these pictures:

Ninjas and 17th century pleather.... )

In the latter pic you can see another reason why I like this show--the protagonist is quite the sexy hottie! ;)

Also "The Tudors" season 3 finally began, and while I was a little bored with the first epp, the second episode I enjoyed quite a bit, and think the season could be a good one even if storywise it could never live up to the greatness of season 2--still haven't seen it past episode 2 though, I'll have to catch up this summer....

Very mild Tudors season 3 spoilers for 3.01 and 3.02 and history!spoiler speculation )

And here's the rest, so I don't take up too much space....

The rest: La buena nueva, The Host Spanish!Style, GG, and Bones )

Sorry for the long post, I wanted to catch up....
sherrilina: (Arthur and Morgaine (Mists of Avalon))

Well here I am posting again, but I had to after seeing this bit of TV news...which as I look at the date on the article is really old news....but it's new to me!

It seems that now instead of vampires the big thing is King Arthur--first the BBC did Merlin, and now Showtime and the BBC (again) are partnering up to do a *new* "modern" retelling of the Arthurian legend, supposedly "historically accurate" like the Tudors (uh-huh....:p), called "Camelot," written by Hirst and the other producers of the Tudors!  xD

http://www.aceshowbiz.com/news/view/00019750.html

I'm really excited, since I like Hirst's writing in general, and since Arthurian legend is another of my obsessions I'm interested of course in what the show will be like--I hope it starts with Arthur's birth and shows the early stuff, and I hope my girl Morgan le Fay is well-written (Hirst does seem to like to give more sympathetic-than-usual portrayals of historically maligned figures like Anne Boleyn or Mary Tudor), and not used too much for sex, as I fear she may be, Showtime being Showtime....

But yeah, another TV show to add to my list, and to perhaps replace "The Tudors" after season 4! :)
