YES! FINALLY!!! :D
That is what I thought after this episode in a nutshell. FINALLY there was a perfect episode full of action that held my interest pretty much the whole time and focused more on the Dallas storyline AND had lots of Eric! I mean, last week's epp was great as well, though I wasn't as completely wild about it as everyone else, but this week I loved without question! (Well except for the gross heart eating obviously, EW, I agree with those who have questioned why Tara would have eaten food that was clearly full of BLOOD, I mean come on! But still, it was a little more intriguing than most of the other T/E/MA storylines we've gotten this season).
Eric was....gah! FINALLY THERE for a decent amount of time! In fact this may be the most Eric-filled episode in the history of the series....he seemed to be in it all the time, maybe even more so than Bill, and every minute was GLORIOUS! xD I think that there should be a rule that he must always be in tank tops or leather jackets, or naked....:p And I loved seeing Eric be so tender about his sire, and willing to give up his life for him (THERE Sookie, you see, he does have a heart in there!). I loved Eric talking to Jason about the V at last (finally!), and impersonating a FOTS-er, and Sookie watching out for him and worried about him and making sure to get the chains off him before they left, and the lovely and hot "trust me" scene FINALLY appearing that we've been drooling about since the last season promo! :) Not to mention his asking Sookie if she was okay, and alluding to the bond between Bill and Lorena...;) Oh Eric....so yeah, loved that we finally got lots of Eric AND the most Eric/Sookie development yet! When Bill said "Sookie will NEVER be yours!" I couldn't help but laugh maniacally and think, "YOU JUST WAIT!" :p
And speaking of Jason earlier, damn! I, like others, have never liked Jason much, since he's so stupid and often an arse, though he has been growing on me this season, but this episode officially made me love his character, for now at least! He was so great, saying so many hilarious lines and defending his sister and saving the day and apologizing to Bill! My favorite lines were:
"You're even worse than Judas!"
"Why, what did he do to you?"
"If you've laid a finger on my sister I'm going to come back for you, and it won't be with a f*cking paintball gun!"
I was cheering him on the whole time! xD
Lafayette was also great, the little we saw of him, and Sam's story was pretty interesting, though I do feel so sorry for him....too bad Andy's become a drunk that nobody believes, since he's the only other witness!
Lorena is annoying, though I also felt a little sorry for her....and REALLY sorry for poor Jessica! :( I was a little disappointed with the J/H storyline this week, it wasn't as adorable and interesting as past weeks for me, though on the other hand the other storylines were so good it didn't need to be as entrancing I suppose...
Oh and Godric is much cooler than I expected him to be, I like the new twist on why he allowed himself to be taken, and he DOES have some good points, I mean the FoTS does have a few good points about vamps deep, deep, deep down...
Can't wait for next week, though I was a little disappointed that it won't be a shootout, and thus no bullet-sucking....but I have heard it's going to be in the show for sure, so I suppose there will be shrapnel-sucking instead!
As for the next epp, it looks like Saint Bill will be riding to the rescue again, the way he comes in to look for Sookie after the explosion in the promo...so much for running after the perpetrators for vengence without checking on Sookie first! *rolleyes*
Okay, yeah, it's different, but it still irks me the way Ball seems to turn around every iniquity, every Bad!Bill moment in the book into a Good!Bill moment....
Also I am SO ready for an intervention with Tara and for Maryann to be gone, even though these days she's slightly less annoying....:p
On another note last week I finally finished "Dead and Gone", meaning that I am at last completely caught up in the Southern Vampire/Sookie Stackhouse novels! It's good to not have to worry about spoilers anymore, though on the other hand I can't believe I have to wait until MAY for the next one! (May is also when the next Georgina Kincaid book is coming out, so that should be an exciting reading month for me). Summer is almost over, and I still have to finish the VA book (at least I've begun to get into it more now and am making more progress!) and read Naamah's Kiss before summer is over....
